Un’opera d’arte spettacolare è stata creata in mezzo a delle rovine greche di 400 anni, unendo il mondo analogico e quello digitale

Gli artisti Thomas Granseuer e Tomislav Topic dello studio di progettazione tedesco Quintessenz hanno trasformato le antiche rovine di pietra rimaste a Kagkatika, in Grecia, in un’opera d’arte spettacolare che si trova a cavallo tra l’analogico e il digitale.
Commissionata dal Paxos Contemporary Art Project, l’installazione artistica creata da Quintessenz è stata realizzata su larga scala utilizzando 120 diversi colori: soprannominata Kagkatikas Secret, l’opera fluttua nel vento, creando una dimensione particolare e surreale nell’ambiente in cui si trova.

Il gioco, ovviamente, è il contrasto tra il contemporaneo e il passato, tra i colori e la pietra.

I pannelli di Quintessenz sono stati verniciati a spruzzo con una varietà di colori e poi tagliati in diverse dimensioni. Quando sono stati appesi nella maglia che viene creata all’interno dello spazio sono stati sistemati in ordine di dimensione – i più grandi sono stati posizionati nella parte posteriore vicino alle finestre in pietra che incorniciano le vedute del mare – per creare l’illusione della profondità. Questa installazione si basa assolutamente sullo stile di Quintessenz, che trae ispirazione dalla cultura dei graffiti, dal design grafico e dai cromatismi.

In questo caso, l’idea era quella di distaccarsi dal quotidianità della vita cittadina, in una luce e in un buio che non comprendono illuminazioni private, lampioni, altri colori artificiali: l’opera sfrutta la natura dell’assenza di altri stimoli per abbandonarsi al sole e al vento, in modo da diventare un «corpo digitale nel mondo reale» – così hanno spiegato gli artisti.

Quintessenz è stato selezionato insieme ad altri sette artisti per l’inaugurale Paxos Contemporary Art Project, un’iniziativa artistica site-specific sull’isola ionica di Paxos, appunto.
